Custom 1976 Bultaco 340 TSS by Jets Forever

Custom Bultaco 340 TSS competition motorcycle by Jets Forever

Bultaco’s TSS racers were built for the sharp end of road racing, pairing light weight with increasingly potent two-stroke singles. Jets Forever’s latest machine takes that competition lineage and stretches it toward the dry-lake racer tradition, using a 340 TSS engine as the center of the design.

Built by Jeff Duval, the Montjuich Class 340 TSS Competition Client carries the name of Barcelona’s famous circuit and the spirit of Bultaco’s racing history. It looks part Grand Prix machine, part straight-line special, with a long stance that makes the polished engine and huge expansion chamber impossible to miss.

A Stretched Two-Stroke Special

French Bultaco specialist Jean-François Vicente rebuilt the competition motor with high-spec internals and machined components, then paired it with a rebuilt period five-speed transmission. John Parry of Cobra Frames fabricated the new chassis from 7/8-inch chromoly tube, adding five inches to the conventional dimensions and setting the steering head at 37 degrees of rake.

The expansion chamber follows the cylinder before curling under the crankcase and running nearly the full length of the motorcycle. Its pale gray finish leaves the pressure-wave plumbing visible beside the bright aluminum cases, giving the exhaust as much visual presence as the tank.

Race Hardware, Road-Legal Details

Adjustable 35mm Ceriani competition forks, CR Suspension twin shocks, chromed alloy wire wheels, and Beringer brakes with 11.5-inch K-Tech floating discs give the chassis a serious running-gear package. The unusual 21-inch front and 18-inch rear combination adds to the bike’s elongated profile.

WIRED-IRON handled the electrical system and road-legal work, while Duval, Parry, and Vicente developed the long tank, minimal seat, and upswept tail. Image Custom Design finished the bodywork in deep red and graphite with yellow Bultaco Racing Team detailing, and the tank carries the full Montjuich Class 1976 Bultaco 340 TSS Competition Client script.

This build stands apart because its parts all serve the same idea: a usable road bike with the proportions of a dry-lake racer and the hardware of a competition special. Jets Forever is offering it for £29,995, so the next owner can put fuel in the tank and return this Spanish single to the road.
