Motorcycles – So Many Choices

The world of motorcycles is a robust one. There’s a motorcycle designed for pretty much every use out there. The companies selling bikes are trying to appeal to every area of the market from the folks who love to cruise to the racers to the adventurers.

Then there’s the custom bike scene. Geniuses, craftsmen, artists take motorcycles and turn them into rolling pieces of art.

I try to cover a little bit of it all. From the new bikes rolling off the production lines at the various motorcycle manufacturers to the littlest of custom shops and individuals tinkering around in their sheds.

Types of Motorcycles

Here are the main types of motorcycles I typically write about on this site.

Motorcycle Brands

The fun doesn’t stop with the various types of motorcycles. There are also tons of brands that sell each type of motorcycle. I’ve written an article on the different motorcycle brands out there, and that should give you a pretty clear idea of what you’ll find.

Motorcycle Engine Size

Motorcycle type and the different brands matter a ton, but I often find myself and other riders classifying motorcycles by their engine size or displacement.

This is typically how the industry categorizes motorcycles. You’ll see a 250cc class, a 600cc class, etc. To learn more, check out my article on the various engine sizes out there in the world of motorcycles.

Motorcycles and Prices

Lastly, I want to talk about the price of motorcycles. Everyone has to work in a budget, and you can buy a nice bike for very little money, but you can also spend a ton.

Price is a big deciding factor, and I would hope you take it into account. Here are my thoughts on motorcycles and their prices.

BDR And Zero Partner Up for Electric ADV Riding

This is a great partnership for both companies.

Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) and Zero Motorcycles have announced a multi-year partnership to get electric motorcycle riders out adventuring.

The companies say this will raise awareness for electric ADV riding and help grow the network of charging stations along the existing and future BDR routes.

It’s an interesting partnership and something I expect to see more of as companies try to navigate the new electric world of motorcycling.

Updates for 2023 YZ450F Yamaha Power Tuner App Launch

Yamaha continues to innovate.

The Yamaha Power Tuner App for the 2023 YZ450F received updates recently, meaning you’ll be able to better fine-tune the bike’s engine performance.

The app features a new intuitive setup, lap timer, traction and launch control tuner, and other bike setup guides.

This is a great way to get the most out of your machine, and it’s good to see Yamaha innovating here.

AIMExpo 2023 Will Have the Largest Ever E-Bike Pavilion and Indoor Demo Course

With e-bikes and electric motorcycles becoming more important, AIMExpo wants to get them front and center.

For AIMExpo 2023, it sounds like electric bikes and electric motorcycles will be a major focus.

The expo will bring the largest e-bike pavilion ever and a huge indoor demo course with plenty of bikes for the attendees.

Recently, I received an email from Damon Motors noting that the company had exceeded $90M order backlog, proving that people truly want this motorcycle.

Sondors Metacycle Review Video

Is this affordable electric motorcycle worth your money?

The Sondors Metacycle is an affordable electric motorcycle. The wonderful gents at FortNine had a chance to take one of these bikes for a spin and find its faults.

As you’ll see in the video above, this bike is not perfect, but for the price, it’s not too bad. It offers a lot to love and that’s saying something from a somewhat questionable company.

Like Ryan from FortNine, I have mixed feelings about this bike. On one hand, I see it as a legit affordable electric motorcycle. On the other, it’s not everything it promised to be and not everything I’d want.

CFMOTO 650 ADVentura Review Video

Could this Chinese bike be a good ADV ride?

The CFMOTO 650 ADVentura is a new bike for the American market out of China.

Zack Courts from Revzilla noticed the bike was similar to the Kawasaki Versys 650, so he took some time to get in the saddle of the CFMOTO to see how good it is in comparison.
