Kawasaki has rolled out the 2025 Versys 1100 in the UK, and despite a bigger heart beating within, you’d be forgiven for mistaking it for last year’s model. The 1100 doesn’t stray far from the Versys 1000 in looks—just a fresh set of graphics and a sneaky “1100” on the shrouds.
Bumping Up the Displacement Births the 2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100
The slight changes might seem like a head-scratcher, but the real magic here is that new engine. Kawasaki’s bumped up the displacement to 1,099cc to comply with stricter Euro5+ emissions, stretching the stroke while keeping the same 77 mm bore.
What’s this mean for the rider? A beefier inline-four now boasting 133 horses at 9,000 rpm, up from the Versys 1000’s 118, with torque kicking in at a respectable 82.6 lb-ft. Engineers also played with cam profiles, funnel lengths, and ECU settings, giving the Versys more punch between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm—right where you need it.
Kawasaki’s also added a heavier flywheel, new balancer, and connected the headers for smoother exhaust flow. Transmission tweaks, including a smaller rear sprocket, help things move quicker, with a quick shifter updated to shift as low as 1,500 rpm.
As for trims, Europe gets three flavors: the base model, the S with TFT and smartphone connectivity, and the top-tier SE with Showa electronic suspension. U.S. availability? Well, stay tuned.
Kawasaki’s got a teaser for October 1, and we’re betting on a Ninja 1100SX to follow suit. Expect different trims, but the same rock-solid engineering.
