This custom BMW R75/6 from 1976, currently listed on Bring a Trailer with no reserve, has been custom-built as a scrambler, a project completed by the seller in 2018. The comprehensive transformation focused on both aesthetic and performance upgrades.
The frame, engine guard, swingarm, and other key components were finished with a black powder coating, while the fuel tank was internally lined and refinished in Porsche Pacific Blue Metallic. The bike also received brushed-aluminum fenders mounted with stainless-steel brackets and a reupholstered two-up seat.
A Super Cool Custom BMW R75/6
The original 745cc opposed-twin engine underwent a significant performance boost with the installation of a Siebenrock 1,000cc Power Kit, enhancing its capability. Additional mechanical upgrades include Cone Engineering mufflers, custom ignition wires, and a Boyer electronic ignition module. The powertrain sends power to the rear wheel via a five-speed transmission and a driveshaft, with the clutch, rear main seal, and oil pump o-ring all replaced during the build.
Numerous modern and custom parts were integrated for improved functionality and style. The bike features a Motogadget M.Unit controller, Motogadget Mini buttons wired internally to the cross-braced stainless-steel handlebar, and a Speedhut GPS-based multifunction gauge housed in the headlight bucket. Lighting upgrades include an LED taillight and H4 headlight, along with PIAA driving lights and Bumm headlight mirrors. Other additions include Biltwell Mushman foot pegs, a modified Givi skid plate, and a removable luggage rack.

The suspension and rolling stock were also overhauled, with the 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke rims powder-coated black and fitted with Heidenau K60 Scout tires. The fork was rebuilt with Progressive Suspension springs, and custom-length IKON shocks were installed at the rear.
The motorcycle was reacquired by the seller in June 2025, and subsequent work included rebuilding and tuning the carburetors, replacing the spark plugs and battery, and changing the engine oil, though the seller notes a remaining leak at the front master cylinder and that the rear tire is due for replacement.
