The Triumph Thruxton 400 Launches in India

Triumph Thruxton 400

The classic café racer has always been a symbol of speed and style, a motorcycle stripped down for performance and defined by its distinctive look. Now, that legacy is getting a modern, accessible twist with the launch of the Triumph Thruxton 400.

I’ve written about this bike previously, and I’ll be honest, I’m pretty excited about it. It’s good to see Triumph deliver on what had been rumored and discussed for so long.

The Triumph Thruxton 400 Looks Like It Delivers Exactly What It Should

This is a forward-looking machine that brings Thruxton’s iconic café racer DNA into the A2-friendly 400cc class. The Thruxton 400 immediately stands out with its clip-on handlebars, rearset footpegs, a sculpted tank, and a sleek half-fairing—all the hallmarks of a true café racer.

Powering this new addition to Triumph’s lineup is a 398cc single-cylinder engine, shared with its 400cc siblings but with a new tune that pushes peak power to a respectable 41.4bhp. This makes it a lively and engaging machine, perfect for riders who want that blend of classic looks and modern performance.

Triumph hasn’t skimped on the hardware, either. The Thruxton 400 features a robust tubular steel frame, 43mm upside-down forks, a monoshock rear, and 17-inch cast wheels. Tipping the scales at a wet weight of 183kg, it promises to be nimble and confidence-inspiring.

With its launch in India and a full global release planned, the Thruxton 400 is poised to introduce a new generation of riders to the thrill of the café racer. As a premium addition to the popular 400cc family, it is a testament to Triumph’s commitment to offering bikes that are both aspirational and attainable, ensuring the timeless style of the Thruxton will be roaring on roads around the world.
