Honda has stayed quiet on electric street bikes for adults until now, focusing mostly on off-road models. But at EICMA 2024, Honda unveiled two striking concepts that signal a change: the sporty EV Fun Concept and the city-focused EV Urban Concept scooter.
The Honda Electric Motorcycle Concepts Looks Awesome
The EV Fun Concept is built for enjoyment, carrying the look and feel of a high-performance street bike. At the front, dual discs with four-piston Nissin calipers hint at serious braking power, while a sturdy inverted fork with a hefty lower triple clamp adds strength. Its streamlined headlight and tidy dash lend a clean, modern look.
Smooth bodywork surrounds the battery, nestled within an aluminum rear frame with a single-sided swingarm and belt drive. It’s an upright, streetfighter-style EV with mid-mounted footpegs, a wide aluminum handlebar, and bar-end mirrors.
The EV Fun Concept is geared for fun, but limited to a 62-mile range. Charging is convenient via the CCS2 auto-standard, allowing access to most public stations. Honda aims to release it in 2025.
The EV Urban Concept scooter, meanwhile, offers city riders protection with a fairing, step-through frame, and floorboards. It’s equipped with a Honda-designed battery, multiple power modes, and rim-mounted disc brakes—all pointing to Honda’s growing commitment to electric mobility.
