Provisional Supersport Next-Generation Bikes and Regulations from FIM

FIM next-generation supersport

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) recently released new regulations for the World Supersport championship.

The regulations include new bikes. Some of the bikes added include “Supersport Next Generation” models.

Here’s a closer look at the regulations and what you can expect.

What are the FIM’s Supersport Next-Generation Bikes?

For the Supersport Next Generation models debuting in the 2022 season, you’ll find the following bikes: Ducati Panigale V2MV Agusta F3 800, MV Agusta F3 Superveloce, and Triumph Street Triple RS. The FIM also listed the Suzuki GSX-R750. However, that motorcycle is still being approved, according to Motorcycle.com.

These next-generation models will race alongside the existing models, including the Honda CBR600RR, Kawasaki ZX-6R, MV Agusta F3 (675cc) Suzuki GSX-R600, Triumph Daytona 675R, and Yamaha YZF-R6.

Once we get to 2023, only the next-generation models will be allowed to race. There are also all sorts of regulations for these bikes focused on the suspension, brakes, exhausts, fairings, and more.
